| Product Candidates
We are committed to discovering and developing drug candidates with the potential to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients with cancer.
Retaspimycin, also known as IPI-504, Infinity’s lead product candidate, is a small molecule inhibitor of heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90). We believe that the inhibition of Hsp90 has broad therapeutic potential for patients with solid and hematological tumors, including cancers that are resistant to other drugs, and that retaspimycin has the potential to be a best-in-class Hsp90 inhibitor. The drug product, retaspimycin hydrochloride, is being evaluated in three disease-focused clinical trials. For more information on our clinical trials, please view the Clinical Trials page.
IPI-926 is our lead orally administered small molecule inhibitor of the Hedgehog signaling pathway. The Hedgehog pathway is believed to play a central role in allowing the proliferation and survival of certain cancer-causing cells and is implicated in many of the most deadly cancers. We believe that IPI-926 has the potential to be a best-in-class systemic inhibitor of the Hedgehog pathway, actively interfering with its deleterious effects.
We have developed highly potent compounds that either selectively target Bcl-2 or target both Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL. Our small molecule inhibitors of the
Bcl-2 family of proteins has demonstrated the ability to inhibit the protective effect of Bcl-2 on cancer cells.
We also have earlier research programs focused on cancer and related conditions.
